COVID-19 Statement

The Health of our Patients and Employees is our Top Priority

Plum Health will continue to provide services throughout the COVID-19 pandemic by following the guidance of Public Health Ontario for providing remote and in-home care.

Remote Care

We understand some patients are hesitant in inviting our support workers into their homes during this time of uncertainty. To respect your wishes and concerns, we are providing the option of telephone or online meetings to help maintain the positive effects of interventions provided by our clinicians and to continue to facilitate progress towards identified goals.

In-Person Care

Precautionary procedures are in effect to protect our patients and employees for all in-home visits.

Our patients and staff are screened prior to visits. We will be inquiring about symptoms, history of recent travel, and contact with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 individuals.

To further prevent the spread, we require our staff to wash their hands with soap and water or use alcohol-based sanitizer upon entering and leaving a residence.

Our staff will be provided with personal protective equipment which may include mask, facial shield, gloves, gowns, and safety glasses or goggles. Our patients and their family members may be asked to wear a mask which will be supplied by Plum Health.

Employees Returning to Work

Our employees are required to monitor their health daily. Employees returning to work or have previously worked in long-term care/retirement facilities are required to self-isolate for 14 days and test negative for COVID-19.
